The Democratic Media Initiative has been organized to participate in the creation of broad-based, participatory, and democratic media, in service of the creation of a truly democratic society and world less blighted by militarism and racism.  Our primary purposes are to train grassroots community activists in media production skills and to develop alternative distributed models and systems of media distribution.
