Democracy Uprising is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing sustainable community development by facilitating the free exchange of labor, information, and ideas.
Democracy Uprising exists to help empower communities to better meet their own needs for food, housing, education, healthcare, and improving their quality of life in a just and dignified manner by providing knowledge and infusions of labor that communities would not otherwise have access to. We also aim to build bridges between communities -- radical and grassroots, rural and urban -- in order to inspire and excite their activism.
The current goal of Democracy Uprising is to launch a nationwide bus tour for the summer of 2005 with the mission of creating a mobile community of socially conscience individuals sharing mutual aid with grassroots communities across America in the form of labor, information, and ideas.
