The mission of Davana Foundation/Children of Angkor Wat Fund is to improve the lives of impoverished children and their families in Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia by funding education, food programs, health care and other basic needs.
Our purpose is two-fold. First, we will fund educational programs such as Intensive English language school, as well as pay for school uniforms, supplies and textbooks, and bikes to commute to school. By improving their English language skills, the children will be well-equipped to obtain better paying jobs in tourism, hospitality, computer technology and other growing industries in the regions. Second, we work with established charities in the area to improve the lives of the families of these children by building fresh-water wells (which will dramatically reduce sickness and infection and allow the families to grow their own food), as well as by giving them piglets to raise and breed (which will increase the families' annual incomes threefold) and basic food necessities (rice, fish cans, etc.).
