Big Sky Education and Research Center
Big Sky Education and Research Center (Big Sky) is an
organization
dedicated to the advancement of therapeutic opportunities for
low-income individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and their
family members, through philanthropy, service, education, and research.
The mission of Big Sky is
to:
- Provide direct therapeutic and educational services to the
autistic
community and their family members;
- Provide direct therapeutic and educational training and research
opportunities for educators, therapists, and behavioral scientists;
- Promote the importance of philanthropy, volunteerism, and the
role of
not-for-profit healthcare institutions & organizations;
- Provide and promote comprehensive education and accreditation
programs
of recognized value to members, staff, and participating families;
- Strengthen the ability of healthcare institutions, institutions
of
higher learning, and non-profit organizations to attract resources
through professional development efforts aimed at raising the quality
of life for the autistic community;
- Foster adherence to established professional standards, ethical
conduct, and a commitment to service;
- Facilitate and promote the sharing of expertise among colleagues
in a
spirit of cooperation and mutual respect;
- Encourage the establishment of comprehensive development programs
in
healthcare institutions, institutions of higher learning, and both
non-profit and for-profit organizations.
