The BeyondFire Institute aims to move California beyond combustion based energy sources and provide security, health, and prosperity with elegant renewable solutions to our society's demands.
As the burgeoning of greenhouse gas levels in our atmosphere coincides with degradation to the natural environment, our planet approaches synergistic collapse. To ensure a quality of life for all people without compromising future generations we must take appropriate action immediately. One can argue about data, yet no scientist denies catastrophic climate change leads to various global extremes, most notably ice ages. These extremes will destroy our current notion of economy and subsequently inhibit modern ways of life. Luckily, changes in our energy structure will not only stimulate our economy, but also improve the quality of life for everyone on this planet.
Our society has come a long way since we first captured fire in our youth, and it is time to mature. Renewable energy technologies represent elegant solutions that provide health, security, and prosperity. It is time to move our world Beyond Fire, beyond being hunter/gatherers of energy. We can now be energy harvesters.
